Distribution and Shipping Specialist

Position Summary: 

The Distribution and Shipping Specialist assists in the coordination of warehouse operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Works with the Warehouse Manager to organize inventory and maintain a functional warehouse and inventory database
• Coordinates, schedules, and delivers warehouse items across all markets
• Manually handles, packs, and stacks warehouse products as needed
• Communicates with warehouse manager and purchasing team regarding inventory demands
• Ensures consistent cross-departmental communication between the warehouse and all other departments
• Assists builders and purchasing team in procuring hard-to-find items
• Assists warehouse manager in developing warehouse and distribution strategies
• Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery
• Delivers items to various locations across all markets; ensures delivery to correct address, obtains signatures and proof of receipt when necessary
• Maintains the general organization and cleanliness within the warehouse
• Operates forklift truck as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in the use of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Applications
• Ability to learn new software and use company HB1 system
• Excellent interpersonal skills and detail oriented
• Analytical skills necessary to make sound judgments relative to inventory
• Superior organizational and time management skills
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle

Hours and Schedule

• Full Time
• Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
• After hours and weekends required on occasion

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Works in non-temperature-controlled environment, with moderate to high noise levels
• Ability to be in a vehicle for extended periods of time
• Frequently required to walk, sit, stand, lift, push and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds
• Rarely required to climb and work in confined or cramped spaces
