5 Ways to Refresh Your Home For the New School Year

New year, new systems!

As summer winds down and the new school year approaches,  your family is probably feeling one of two ways -- excited or anxious. No matter which side of the fence you're on, it's a good idea to take all of that anticipation and channel it into a project. Here are our top 5 tips for resetting your home for the new school year!

1. Lunch Box Station

One of the most dreaded parts of back-to-school is the meal prepping. It takes so much time each day, and there's nothing worse than scrambling around in the morning trying to pack a lunch!

We recommend doing a quick kitchen refresh, focusing on creating a system that makes it easy for you (or even your little one) to pack a delicious lunch in minutes!

2. Clean out Closets!

Nothing feels better than decluttering! Go through your kiddo's closets and see which items they can go without this school year. This will give you less laundry to keep up with, less hassle in the morning picking out outfits, and less ways your little one can make a mess! Best of all, donating the clothes could provide the back-to-school styles that another child needs!

3. Start a Clipboard System

Looking for ways to give your little one some more autonomy this year? Starting a clipboard system could be an awesome way to do just that!

On the clipboards, you can post chores and to-do list items for your child. You can also have a clipboard where your child can post school forms or slips that need your attention.

4. A Place For Everything

Between backpacks, jackets, shoes, and sporting items, kids carry a LOT with them to school each day. Now is the best time to find a spot for everything and set a goal to keep it there throughout the year.

Got some extra room in your coat closet? Try out one of these purse hangers for each member of the family! With multiple hooks on each one, there's plenty of room for a couple of bags, jackets, a lunchbox, and more!

5. Hall of Fame

Let your kids know that you are proud of them, and incentivize hard work at school! We love this family "Hall of Fame" that showcases their kid's achievements and artwork. Starting this in August is sure to encourage excellence in their academics throughout the entire school year!
